Message from the CEO



Thank you for visiting our website. My name is Zak El-Ramly and I am the CEO, president and founder of ZE PowerGroup or, simply put, the "ZE." in ZE PowerGroup. We started our operation back in 1995 as a strategic consulting firm serving the needs of a deregulating and dynamic energy market. As you can tell from the strength and breadth of our website, we continue to grow and provide a wider range of complimentary products and services.

I started ZE PowerGroup® for four simple reasons

  • I love what I do in the energy industry
  • I had a very good feel for the needs of competitive markets
  • I had conviction in my ability to develop an organization to provide these services
  • I had a strong need to transfer or leave behind my business knowledge and expertise
I was lucky to have worked for a large corporation, BC Hydro, for many years and to have held several key positions related to energy management, rates, forecasting, policy development and business development - this, supplemented by my academic training, engineering background, business understanding and regulatory knowledge, providing me with a very solid foundation in energy market operation.

I was even luckier to have been chosen to help establish Powerex, a major non-regulated entity initiated for the purposes of commodity trading. There, I acted as one of its founding members and ultimately its executive Vice President, Marketing. I learned a lot about the risk involved in operating in the competitive market there.

My rich experience has taught me that an organization is only as good as its people. It is for this reason that we focus on hiring the best people we can find; and by actively fostering their growth and development, we help them to become the best industry people available. I can freely state that our employees are the main reason for ongoing success.

Using ZE PowerGroup's collective experiences and knowledge, we tailor our products and services to meet the exact needs of the market. Our stated challenge is to deliver to clients the most innovative yet immediately useable solutions.
