Community Involvement

At ZE, we care

At ZE, we promote community spirit and contribution. Through the years, ZE has participated in several fundraising and community support programs. To date, we have raised over $50,000 in donations to CARE Canada for relief in Haiti, Pakistan and Africa. It is also our tradition to contribute to several donation programs in benefit of our local Food Bank. The spirit of ambition, cooperation and achievement is apparent in ZE’s corporate culture. We are committed to fulfilling our social responsibility as a member of the community. Together, we can prove the collaborative power of individuals to instigate and inspire change on a global scale.

	Help Africa Fundraising Campaign ZE employees gave generously to raise $16,200 to support those affected by the drought and subsequent famine in east Africa. Combined with the Canadian government's matching program, this contribution resulted in over $32,000 being sent to the disaster area to provide water, food, shelter, sanitation facilities and medical care to those affected.
	Pakistan Relief Flooding ensued in Pakistan after torrential monsoon rains in July 2010. Pakistan’s worst flooding in generations affected millions of citizens. Through the generous donations of ZE employees, we raised $8,075 to send to Pakistan for relief.
	Haiti Relief The earthquake on January 12, 2010 produced devastating effects. To answer the call for overwhelming need, ZE organized a donation program through CARE Canada. All individual donations were matched by ZE and the Canadian government, resulting in a contribution of $15,085 being sent to Haiti for relief.
	Movember Every year when November rolls around, it becomes moustache season for the men of ZE as they participate in the annual Movember fundraiser. This corporate initiative helps to raise awareness for prostate cancer and men’s health. Participants grow their moustaches for the entire month, and raise funds by seeking sponsorships for their efforts. ZE is proud to support Movember, as this world-wide event strives to change the face of men’s health.

Education

ZE is proud to support academic initiatives and the development of the next generation in the energy and commodities industry. To this end, ZE takes part in contributing to the education of future candidates of the Data Management, and Trade and Risk Management workforce. We are currently working with various educational institutes to provide an enriched curriculum with access to industry standard tools and applications.

University of Houston ZE participates in the development of the “Energy Trading Systems” course at the University of Houston’s Bauer College of Business by providing students with hands-on experience using ZEMA™ Data Management and Analysis software.  Student training on industry-standard applications gives them a competitive edge when entering the workforce, while minimizing training cost and risk to corporations hiring new graduates.  Helping to develop the next generation of energy employees is a true honour for ZE, and an endeavor that we hold in high regard.

The Oxford Princeton Programme ZE is proud to partner with The Oxford Princeton Programme, the world’s leading provider of education and training solutions to the energy, commodity and derivatives industries. This partnership allows the Programme to use ZE’s enterprise data management solution software, known throughout the industry as ZEMA™, for its market discovery and analysis activities.  ZEMA’s consulting group works closely with the course instructor to automate and create the material delivered in the courses.
