Dr. Zak El-Ramly, P.Eng - President and CEO
Dr. El-Ramly started ZE PowerGroup in 1995 to help support clients in the deregulating energy markets. Zak spent over twenty years at the local utility, BC Hydro, in various departments and roles, including forecasting, demand side management, and rates and policy development. Before Zak ended his tenure with the utility, he was co-founder and VP of Marketing of Powerex, the marketing arm of BC Hydro. Now, as President and CEO of ZE, Zak uses his expertise in competitive energy markets to execute a variety of client projects, including asset evaluation and acquisition, strategic planning, trade and risk management, commodity price forecasting, regulatory support and intervention. Zak’s vision and ambition is the driving force behind the success ZE enjoys today.

Waleed El-Ramly, MBA - Chief Operating Officer

Waleed is responsible for the production and delivery of the organization’s software solutions. He has over fifteen years of experience in IT and energy markets and brings tremendous experience and insight to the company. Waleed has been involved in every client deployment since the inception of the software development group.

Michal Peliwo, Director, Business Solutions

Michal provides a unique understanding of the industry’s market data requirements as he leads the charge with the Data Management group at ZE. Michal brings years of software development and client management experience to the Company. He has spearheaded the majority of our ZEMA implementations and brings success to every deployment. Michal’s capabilities are matched only by his intensity and desire to exceed client expectations.

Aiman El-Ramly, CMC, MBA - Senior Vice President, Strategy and Business Development

Aiman has over twenty years of experience in the energy industry and continues to provide consulting and marketing services to various clients across North America. Aiman’s current focus is on marketing, sales, and communications. He ensures the continuous strengthening of the ZEMA brand. Aiman attends and addresses various industry events, workshops, and other social gatherings as ZE’s official representative.

In his current role, Alexey leads the Company’s team of analysts in various client-driven consulting activities. Alex brings extensive financial and energy related experience to ZE. He and his team of ZEMA experts support client implementations with requirements gathering, training, curve development, report building, and business process automation.

Manal El-Ramly, M.ASc. Mech Eng, Director, Global Markets

Manal El-Ramly is the Director of ZE's Eastern Office, located in North Carolina. Manal has considerable experience in the energy industry and a long history with ZE having joined in ZE's first year of operation. While at ZE from 1995 to 1998, Manal completed her Masters in Applied Science at the University of British Columbia. Her thesis on probabilistic forecasting was the impetus behind ZE's forecasting work during the advent of competitive power markets. Manal's draws on her industry experience and her business maturity to build strong client relationships.

Fran Rolon, Director, North American Markets

Fran is ZE’s Director of North American Markets. He works out of ZE’s office in Houston, Texas. Fran’s deep understanding of market and customer needs stems from over 35 years of experience in the energy industry as a senior sales executive for a number of large vendors. He has extensive knowledge and experience in Data Aggregation, Market Analytics, Energy Industry Consulting, and Energy Trading Risk Management software sales.

Ian Gordon, Director, European Markets

Ian is at ZE’s London, England office where he is the Director of European Markets. Since 2009 Ian has helped establish ZEMA Suite as the global standard for data management and analysis. Ian brings a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience from his IT and global energy business background.  Ian’s expertise, enthusiasm and drive are key contributors to powering ZE in the European market.

Arnaud de Herrypon, Director, Asian Markets

Arnaud has lived in Asia for over 11 years and is the Director of Asian Markets. He is located at ZE’s office in Singapore. Arnaud has a proven track record of accelerating growth in mature businesses, and developing new sales and support operations. With over 20 years of successful technology solution sales and executive management expertise in capital markets and energy and commodity industries, he is an integral member of ZE’s international team.
