Dr. Zak El-Ramly, President and CEO of ZE, Nominated for Platts Lifetime Achievement Award
ZE PowerGroup Inc. (ZE) is delighted to announce that Dr. Zak El-Ramly, President and CEO of ZE, has been selected as a finalist for a Lifetime Achievement Award in the 2013 Platts Global Energy Awards. The Platts Global Energy Awards honor and recognize those who have displayed excellence in leadership, innovation, and performance in the energy industry.
An independent panel of judges selected finalists for the Lifetime Achievement Award from a list of over 200 nominees. The judges will evaluate and select winners based on their achievements and aptitudes for innovation, integrity, leadership, peer recognition, and strategic vision.
Dr. El-Ramly has been instrumental in shaping and building the privatized energy market, as it is today. Over the course of his career he has provided expert testimony for multiple national and international regulatory commissions and has participated in the negotiation of major international treaties. Prior to establishing ZE in 1995, he also spearheaded and led the development of many programs and policies which have served as a model for a number of utilities. Under his stewardship, ZE has been consistently recognized as the leader in its field due to its technological innovation and unparalleled customer service. The award-winning ZEMA Suite, developed under his leadership, is setting the standard in data management for energy and commodities globally.
Speaking of his nomination, Dr. El-Ramly said, “I am surprised and greatly honored to be considered for this prestigious industry award. I thought I was just doing my job the best way I know how.”
Winners will be announced at the 15th annual Platts Global Energy Awards gala at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York City, NY, on December 12, 2013.
