ZE and its Partners Collaborate for Successful Boston Workshop
June 28, 2012 – Richmond, B.C. – Last week, ZE powerGroup Inc. (ZE) and its partners – Allegro Development, Argus Media, IIR Energy, Interactive Data, MDA EarthSat and Opportune – came together in Boston, MA to host a complimentary Lunch and Learn focusing on Data Management Trends and Challenges for Eastern Energy and Commodities Markets. This was part of an ongoing series of events presented by ZE and its partners to share industry insight and facilitate the exchange of technical expertise and best practices.
Challenges brought about by economic instability, ever increasing volumes of data and a need for efficient analysis and information distribution have forced companies to make significant decisions about how to adapt and shape operations. The Boston Lunch and Learn addressed a number of these challenges during a panel discussion and consideration of two ZEMA use cases. Participants were particularly interested in Curve Management and System Integration. It is clear that more companies are learning the importance of curve management and how it can be applied to risk mitigation, and they are realizing firsthand that development and maintenance of their own internally built forward curves can create an unnecessary strain on capital and resources. This realization points to the fundamental importance of incorporating automated processes for generating and distributing forward curves as a critical component of risk management.
ZE has developed a solution to facilitate the curve management process with ZEMA – a sophisticated suite of enterprise data management and analysis software designed to meet the specific business process automation, curve management, integration and operational challenges that energy and commodity market participants are facing today.
